Tax payments surpassing Rs.1 million to be paid online: FBR

Karachi: According to a recent news report, the Director-General (DG) of the Reforms and Automation department in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Mr. Wajid Ali has stated that the payments in excess of Rs.1 million must be submitted through electronic modes, January 20th onwards. The DG was talking to the members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in a summit.

While providing further details on the project, the DG Wajid Ali stated that the online system was introduced through a procedure in 2017 in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). The system is also connected with the FBR’s WeBOC utility.

The system will consist of a unique system that will issue IDs to users, that will be connected to a relevant bank branch for that particular user. The system will also be made available through easy paisa and on mobile phones. Users will be able to make payments round the clock.
