Rawalpindi: According to a recent news report, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director-General Abdul Sattar Isani ordered strict action against illegal housing schemes. He issued the direction during a meeting held to review the working of the directorates of administration and finance, metropolitan planning and traffic engineering, land development and estate management and engineering.

He said that strict steps against illegal/unauthorized building and commercial activities should be taken by the directorate concerned.
The conference was told about RDA property such as 15 shops on Raja Sultan Lane, vacant land, property transfer cases in the civic agency, verification, and residential and commercial building clearance.

The meeting discussed ongoing and new schemes like the Ring Road project, Leh Nullah expressway, dualisation of Dr Qadeer Khan Road from Islamabad Highway to Falcon Complex Rawalpindi, construction/widening and improvement of Dry Port Road from Rahimabad flyover to Welfare Complex via Chaklala railway station and construction of three pedestrian bridges on Airport Road.
