Karachi: According to a piece of recent news reported on Friday, a notice was taken by the Sindh High Court (SHC) headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar on the non-filing of a progress report by the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and issued orders to Director General (DG) of SBCA Shamsuddin Soomro to submit the document on a significance basis.

The report contains details of the changes in the building regulations related to the NOC’s of high-rise structures in the city of Karachi. The court has said that the SBCA is instructed to hold a summit with the Civil Defence Department for more amendments regarding the NOC issuance to the owners of the high-rise buildings, but the department has neglected to abide by the orders.

The DG has been asked to appear in court on the 26th of January. In another recent news, Shamsuddin Soomro was recently promoted to the post of Director-General, previously serving important posts in the provincial government.
