Peshawar: According to a recent news report, the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) received a Chinese delegation that appraised the business community about the significance and impact of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Rashakai SEZ is being developed as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to sources, the delegation briefed SCCI representatives on the investment prospects and benefits open to the business community in the aforementioned SEZ. Rashakai SEZ, according to a Chinese official, is a critical project because it has the full support of China’s government and investors.

SCCI President Sherbaz Bilour also spoke at the gathering, describing CPEC as a “shining example of Pak-China friendship” that is “working to bring economic stability and growth to the entire country.” According to him, the SEZ would draw investors from KP and provide work opportunities.
