RDA initiates legal action against illegal housing projects, marketing campaigns

Rawalpindi: As per a piece of recent news reported, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has registered an FIR against 43 illegal housing projects, with he addition of denying them the permission of advertising their projects without having the No Objection Certificate (NOC), within their prevision.

According to the details revealed in the report, the action was taken by the CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza. It was also revealed that Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has introduced legal proceedings against marketing campaigns launched for promotion of illegal housing projects in question.

The civic body has clarified that no advertisements/marketing of the real estate projects is permissible without the necessary NOC. Furthermore, sponsors are also warned to examine the project with the authority or face legal consequences. Also, the RDA has advised the general public against investing in illegal housing projects.

The MP&TE directorate has forwarded letters to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Pemra, district collector, district council, and power distribution firms regarding these illegal housing schemes and their advertisement restrictions.
