Rawalpindi: According to a recent news report, the Rawalpindi Development Authority’s (RDA) administrative body has announced the decision to enhance the financial and administrative powers of the Director-General.

In addition, the RDA raised the registration and renewal fees for licensed town planners, architects, resident engineers, structural engineers, and vetting structural engineers.
These decisions were made at the RDA Governing Body’s 53rd meeting, which was chaired by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza.
“At present, the RDA Director-General was authorized to approve Rs. 2 million to Rs. 2.5 million worth of development schemes, as the rules were made in 1992 but we changed the rules and allowed the director-general to approve Rs. 150 million worth of development scheme from RDA’s funds,” said RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza while talking to Dawn after the meeting.

During the conference, RDA Director General Abdul Sattar Isani gave the governing body a thorough briefing on the agenda items. The governing body authorized the recruitment of officers and staff to various RDA directorates as individual consultants and professionals.
