Islamabad: In a recent news report, published on the 26th of January, Marriott International and the Imarat Group of Companies has signed an agreement to launch two new hotel franchises, Residence Inn, and Courtyard by Marriott in Pakistan.

The agreement was signed by Marriott International Director of Lodging Development in the Middle East and Pakistan Ziad Abi Raad and Imarat Group of Companies Chairman Mr. Shafiq Akbar.
Marriott International Director of Lodging Development in the Middle East and Pakistan Ziad Abi Raad said that the company is eager about these debuts and that it is seeking to increase brand portfolio in Pakistan while in line with consumer demand and tourism sector’s growth.

The chairman expressed hope that this partnership will add to the increasing number of modestly priced hospitality options in the country. Not to mention this development will ‘bring a much-needed quantum leap to the hotel and tourism industries in Pakistan’, he added.
