Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has recommended that the government build a ring road around Faisalabad, a technology park in FDA City, an international cricket stadium, and approximately 1,500 houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program.

FDA Director General Sohail Khwaja reported this in a Monday briefing to Commissioner Saqab Manan and others. He said that the FDA’s financial situation was improving because revenue recovery had surpassed Rs. 1 billion, owing to some reforms.
He said that progress on the FDA City initiative had been intensified and that unpaid sums were being retrieved from the housing scheme’s defaulters. He also said that funds had been collected by selling cancelled and unallocated plots at public auction.

A crackdown was underway against the illegal housing schemes by sealing their offices and demolition of their structures. The commissioner appreciated the reforms introduced in the FDA, particularly to improve its financial health.
