Islamabad: According to a news source, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently notified its Active Taxpayers List (ATL) for Tax Year (TY) 2020, stating that as many as 2.62 million individuals had filed their income tax returns till February 28, 2021.

During the same time in 2019, 2.43 million people filed income tax returns, according to the taxes department. It also claimed that the number of taxpayers registered in TY2020 improved by 8% as compared to the number of taxpayers counted in TY2019.
The names of both daily and late filers are listed in the Registered Taxpayers List 2020. (individuals who submitted their tax returns after the expiry of the original deadline announced by the FBR).

Involved taxpayers are entitled to a range of incentives, including relief from withholding tax on a variety of financial activities and lower tax rates on vehicle/property sales.
