Lahore: According to a recent news report, on Sunday, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting in which the design and extension of four provincial highways were given preliminary approval.

He ordered the communication and works group to complete all project-related activities within the time limit. He reported that the foundation stone for a 204-kilometre dual carriageway linking Chichawatni, Rajana, Pirmahal, Chowk Azam, Layyah, and Taunsa will be laid this year, as well as the 107-kilometre Jhang bypass-Shorkot road project.
Similarly, construction on the 150-kilometre Depalpur-Pakpattan-Vehari road project will begin soon, and the 75-kilometre Hasilpur-Bahawalnagar road project was accepted at the meeting.

Mr Buzdar said that the motorway will link Sahiwal and Chichawatni. For a cost of Rs. 15 billion, the second phase of the Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan program will build and extend at least 154 schemes of 1,076km-long rural roads throughout the province.
