Karachi: According to a recent news report, the Roshan Digital Accounts have received an amount of Rs.400 million in the past four months. This high amount of inflow is being acknowledged as a sign of growing confidence in the government’s initiative.

The total number of Roshan Digital Accounts established is around 80,000. These accounts aim to attract flows of cash on the backhand of high deposit returns provided by the banks in developed countries. Even though the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has not shared this country-wise breakdown of the accountholders, experts believe that the majority of account holders are residing in the Gulf region.

These accounts have been established for non-residential Pakistani citizens. To help them with remotely opening bank accounts in Pakistan through the means of digital portals.
The government had also launched the Naya Pakistan Savings Certificate along with the Roshan Digital accounts which offer high returns.
