Taxila: In a recent news report, the government has announced its decision of launching a multi-million project in regard to the Punjab Tourism for economic growth. This is a collaborative project with the World Bank to turn the Mughal-era Attock Fort into a tourist destination.

The beautiful historical fort was constructed during the reign of the great Mughal Emperor Akbar. The Fort will be opened to the public for the first time. Previously, the site was used for strategic purposes.

The plan to develop the tourist destination was finalized by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Tourism and Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfikar Bukhari, representatives of local administration, tourism and archaeological departments, and World Bank officials were present during the site visit.
